The statue (“Statue of Equality”) commemorates Bhakti saint Sri Ramanujacharya, who promoted the idea of equality in all aspects of living, including faith, caste and creed.

The statue has been conceptualised by Chinna Jeeyar Swami of Sri Ramanujacharya Ashram.
Know “Statue of Equality” in Details
The “Statue of Equality” is 216-feet tall statue of Vaishnava saint Sri Ramanujacharya, who was born in 1017 CE, is the World’s 2nd Tallest Sitting STATUE situated at the Chinna Jeeyar Swamy Ashram at Muchintal on the outskirts of Hyderabad City in Telangana.
The statue is made of ‘panchaloha’, a combination of five metals – gold, silver, copper, brass, and zync. It is among the tallest metallic statues in sitting position in the world.
The statue has been mounted on a 54-feet high base building named ‘Bhadra Vedi’. The building has floors meant for a Vedic digital library and research centre, ancient Indian texts, a theatre and an educational gallery detailing the works of Sri Ramanujacharya.

PM Modi unveiled this 216 feet high ‘Statue of Equality’ on Saturday (05-February-2022).
The inauguration of this World’s 2nd Tallest Sitting statue is part of the ongoing 12-day celebration of Vaishnava saint Sri Ramanujacharya’s 1,000th birth anniversary.
