15th President of India:
Droupadi Murmu is an Indian politician, who has become the 15th President of our country by winning the election for the post of President of the Republic of India today. She has become the first tribal President of India and has the privilege of becoming the second woman President of our country. And she has become the first President from Odisha, India.

Droupadi Murmu’s Personal and Early Life:
Droupadi Murmu was born on 20 June 1958 in Baidaposi village of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. Her father’s name is Biranchi Narayan Tudu. She belongs to the Santhal family. She is a member of Bharatiya Janata Party. She was the state president of ST Morcha from 2006 to 2009. Draupadi Murmu has also worked as a teacher.
Droupadi Murmu comes from a very backward district of Odisha, belonging to a very poor family. But, despite all kinds of difficulties, his zeal for studies was such that he completed his education.
Teaching Without any Salary:
Let me tell you that Murmu has been a teacher before joining politics. She has also worked as a teacher. She has risen from an ordinary teacher to the highest peak of politics. According to media reports, her dedication towards social service has been such that she used to teach without salary at Sri Aurobindo Integral Education Center in Rairangpur.
Received ‘Neelkanth Award’ for Best MLA in Odisha
In 2007, the Odisha government has also given the ‘Neelkanth Award’ for Best MLA to Droupadi Murmu. While doing politics in Odisha, she has contributed very actively for the upliftment of the tribal community.
Some facts about Droupadi Murmu’s political tenure
As I told you above that she was a teacher before joining politics. After that she first became a councilor and then an MLA. During the BJD and BJP coalition government in Odisha, Droupadi Murmu has also held the portfolio of commerce and transport between 2000 and 2004 and then later in the Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Resources Department.
When Narendra Modi’s government was formed at the Center in 2014, in 2015 she was crowned as the first woman and tribal governor of Jharkhand. That is, she has a long administrative experience.
Presidential Election 2022: Candidates and other information
The BJP-led NDA had on June 21 nominated former Jharkhand governor Droupadi Murmu as its candidate for the presidential election. And the joint opposition parties had nominated former Union minister Yashwant Sinha as the presidential candidate.
On June 9, 2022, the Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India had told that the term of President Ram Nath Kovind would end on July 24. Voting for the presidential election will be held on July 18. The counting of votes will be done on July 21. Moving forward in this sequence, peaceful voting has also been done on 18th July and today the result of Presidential election has also been revealed on 21st July.
Droupadi Murmu has become the 15th President of our country by winning the Presidential election of the Republic of India today.
