Air Force Forward Air Base at War Time
During the war, from the forward air base of the Air Force built in the border areas of the country, our army and air force fly in case of any mission or emergency or for the purpose of providing rescue and relief. But there is always a crisis at these airbases. During the war, this Air Force airbase is always at risk of being attacked by enemy fighter jets. The enemy keeps trying to destroy the runway so that the fighter jets cannot take off to carry out the mission in front.
Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari together inaugurated an emergency landing field on National Highway-925A in Jalore, Rajasthan today.
Importance of having emergency runways on highways in border areas of the country
But in India, there will be no such difficulty now. Because the roads being built under the “Bharatmala Project” in the border areas of the country are now also very important in terms of security. These highways are being designed in such a way that our army and air force can also use it. These highways will now act as an emergency runway for our army.
Now what will happen is that if any enemy country targets our important airbase and destroys it, then even in this situation the operations of our army will not stop even after being interrupted. Then the highways adjacent to these borders will be used by our army for runway and they will also be able to do their landing and takeoff from these highways.
Apart from this, these highways can also be used for emergency runway in case of emergency or for the purpose of providing rescue and relief.
How will these highways be managed?
First of all, it’s to let you know that National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is building NH-Highways as an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) for the Indian Air Force. Sources in the Ministry of Road Transport said that in its design, special care is being taken to close the highway from both sides while landing the flight, to the necessary safety protocols so that the traffic is not obstructed.
